Henblas – Project value £350,000.00

This contract was to renovate a manor house. Due to many years of poor building maintenance we came across many problems from damp and woodworm infestations. Works included roofing, flooring, walls, kitchens, bathrooms and decoration.

All works had to be carried out sympathetically without disturbing the properties features.

We kept our client informed at all times and liaised closely with their design team and building control.

The relevance of this contract is that it demonstrates our capacity and ability to undertake large refurbishment projects which are characterised by complex design challenges and required the coordination of many specialists, and an extraordinary level of restoration skill, care and quality workmanship. These challenges can be seen across a number of properties within Ceredigion and therefore you should have no concerns over our ability, if selected, to deliver real value, high quality projects of a similar nature.

Seabreeze – Project value - £250,000.00

Works included renovating and extending a prominent house in a prime coastal location.

The contract duration was over a 9 month period in which we had severe weather that hindered progress on site and inevitably caused the project to fall behind program. However, through lean construction methods we were able to bring the project back on to programme within 4 weeks and achieved a successful handover with the property ready for the client to occupy the buildings.

Works included demolitions, groundworks, brick and blockwork, carpentry, roofing, plastering and internal finishes. We scored 9.8 out of 10 on our client satisfaction questionnaire.

The relevance of this case study is that it demonstrates our ability to overcome problems outside of our control and still achieve the project objectives of delivering high quality work on time. This required innovation, the right resources and a positive ‘can do’ attitude which is characteristic of our approach to all projects and differentiates us from many of our competitors. We believe that all of our clients should be delighted with our performance and aim to match or better this customer’s satisfaction score when working on your own projects.

Royal Pier – Project Value £2,400

Attended site within 3 hours after severe damage caused by freak weather, made site secure to enable the establishment to carry on trading within 18 hours and had all areas of work snagged, cleaned and signed over to the client to carry on their day to day business operations within 3 days.

We received the following testimonial from the client:

“Public welfare is our top priority, and therefore LEB’s out-of-hours emergency response service has to be the best: they have always arrived within the hour, and successfully minimised danger and disruption.

They provide a service combining high-quality construction with an exact understanding of the client’s requirements, and are continually ready to help with new techniques and cost-cutting ideas. I have always found their approach both dynamic and innovative, and the quality of the workmanship is always of a faultless standard: it is clear to see they only use the very best methods and materials.

Throughout the works, LEB provides continuous updates with a keen focus on customer service to ensure dialogue exists at all times, and respond swiftly and suitably to any unforeseen issues that may arise either during or at completion. Our positive ‘can do’ approach enables our clients to minimise disruption to their operations and enables them to get back up and running again quickly.

The project was completed within extremely tight time schedules and working restrictions, and within residential halls that were occupied. Works carried out included demolition, plumbing, and carpentry, electrical and decorating. Upon completion there were no defects and we handed over an O & M file to the client.

We received the following testimonial from the client:

“Luke Baker was readily available for any necessary communication regarding the works. The staff on site were extremely competent, friendly and approachable, willing to take instruction and to discuss the works….and willing to meet the needs of a very exacting customer.”……University Estates Department
