ABER Instruments,
Unit 5 Refurbishment, Aberystwyth

Client: ABER Instruments

Works: Refurbishment

Value:  £500k

Overview:

LEB Construction refurbished the headquarters of ABER Instruments which houses manufacturing, laboratories, stores, workshops and offices. The global biotech company supplies thousands of advanced systems for use in the brewing, biotech, bio-renewables, and biofuel industries.

What we did:

LEB redeveloped ABER's manufacturing facility from a 1980's building into a modern ultra-efficient working environment, complete with many specialist requirements such as antistatic flooring and cleanroom spaces.

The work was carried out in four phases to minimise disruption to business operations. The critical phase was the production area shutdown. We were able to re-engineer a 40-day programme into just 19 construction days using lean construction methodology.  Completing exactly on target, enabling the client to resume production at the earliest opportunity.

What the client says:

“Large parts of the project were massively time critical to our business which supplies electronic instrumentation internationally.

“LEB did a fantastic job in reducing the overall programme and we were impressed with the quality of the finished work and their service was excellent throughout the contract.

“Thanks to LEB we now have the most amazing working environment which will enable ABER and its staff to grow into the 2020s.”
